Bumblefoot treatment

hi all!

i’ve noticed a few of my chickens developed bumblefoot. i’m actively working to help their conditions as i treat them, but i’m worried i’m not treating them properly.

i’ve soaked in epsom salt and dug out the black scabs, spraying with Vetericyn and wrapping after. i had one girl who was limping, and since i’ve treated her has stopped limping. however, the wound where the scab was has not gotten any softer. this is my biggest concern. did i not take enough of the mass out? should i continue spraying and wrapping until the wound is smaller?

i am confident the bumblefoot hasn’t gotten bad enough to need veterinary care, and have no specialty vets close enough to take them to. how should i go about continuing to treat?
