That said, the fashion set has set its sights on a retro T-shirt trend to add some interest to a typical jeans-and-sandals outfit. Lily Allen is the latest celebrity to try it.

While on a walk with Jonah Freud this week, Allen was spotted not in a plain white tee but a graphic ringer T-shirt with a contrasting neckline and sleeves, which she paired with baggy jeans. She kept her look quite laid-back with a pair of suede slide sandals and an Hermès Box Birkin 30. A plain white T-shirt would've looked perfectly fine, but it would've been far more predictable than the retro trend she went with. Opting for a ringer T-shirt instead made her outfit go from basic to interesting.
