No One Talks About This Sony Lens. Why?

"I'm doing one of those articles where I revisit a product from 10 years ago," is a text that I send to close friends. "This was from my Sony Zeiss 50mm f1.4 review done in 2016. It was shot on a press trip and I was like one of the only photographers using flash." I hated those trips, honestly. But as I've been revisiting my archives and the older reviews that we've done here at the Phoblographer, I keep finding images that are unlike anything that we really see anymore today. Why? Because the brands have engineered the life and character out of lenses in a way that I feel they're catering to Gen Z's idea of looksmaxxing. The lead image of this article was shot using the Sony 50mm f1.4 Zeiss lens for full-frame E-mount cameras. And even today, they don't have a lens like this.
