How to have a nice colorful wardrobe without buying too much stuff?

Hi all!

A few months ago I started the process of building a nice, cohesive wardrobe, built mostly on neutral essentials (beiges and browns). I’m true autumn so I try to only have colors that compliment my features (freckles, auburn hair, greenish eyes and yellow/ olive skin) and I feel like I finally understood what I want

The thing is, a lot of my inspo pics are just color coded outfits. I don’t have the time, money, energy nor space to hoard a bunch of clothes in various colors so I’m trying to figure out a way to make it work somehow

I knit so I’m slowly making some colorful sweaters and cardigans but right now they kinda feel out of place because everything else is… bland? Maybe it’s a me issue but for the life of me I can’t crack the code to the „statement piece” outfits, maybe my pieces aren’t statement enough.

Also I think I’m hourglass shaped (100-75-110 cm circumference) so anything that doesn’t accentuate the waist makes me feel like a sack of potatoes but at least I can knit my sweaters slightly cropped to help with that

Do you have any tips on where to start, how to plan the outfits and buy new clothes to achieve what I want? How do you manage such wardrobes? I know some of you are hella creative and fashionable, please share your secrets with this clueless bihh 😭
