Russia Says It Struck Two Cargo Vessels And Fuel Facilities At Ukrainian Port

Russia’s Defence Ministry said on Friday that Russian forces struck two more cargo vessels in the Black Sea that were being used “in the interests of the Ukrainian military”. It also said Russian forces hit fuel storage facilities at the Ukrainian port of Pivdennyi.
The ministry did not identify the two vessels or provide details about their cargo, location or the damage caused. It also did not say how much damage was done to the fuel storage facilities at Pivdennyi.
The Russian Defence Ministry said the two cargo vessels were targeted because they were being used in the interests of the Ukrainian military.
The ministry gave no further details about the ships or their owners. It also did not provide information about any casualties linked to the reported strikes.
Russia also said its forces hit fuel storage facilities at Pivdennyi, a Ukrainian port. No independent information was provided on the extent of the damage.
Separately, Russia-installed governor of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said two people were killed after a Ukrainian drone struck an apartment building in Kerch, in Russian-controlled Crimea.
Aksyonov said the drone hit the apartment building but did not provide further details about the damage or the circumstances of the attack.
The report of the deaths in Kerch was separate from Russia’s claims about the cargo vessels and the Pivdennyi port facilities.
The Russian Defence Ministry’s claims about the strikes have not been independently verified.
Further information from Russian or Ukrainian authorities could provide more details about the vessels, the damage at Pivdennyi and the reported drone strike in Kerch.
