Forget Crop Tops—Jennifer Lopez's Backless Going-Out Halter Shows Just as Much Skin

While Jennifer Lopez and I follow different work dress codes, she has always been my blueprint for day-to-night dressing. My biggest takeaway? With a neutral-led color palette, even going-out tops can work for my first meeting of the day, my last appointment, and dinner with friends hours after I slam my laptop shut. Case in point: the backless option she wore outside of her office on August 20.

Before a full day behind her Beverly Hills desk, paparazzi captured Lopez's outfit. She wore a racerback top from St. Agni, the Australian label beloved by Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lawrence, and more. The on-sale, cream top took a "business in front, party in the back" approach to the timeless summer staple.

From the front, the sleeveless, high-neck design was surprisingly full-coverage for a tank top style. But as soon as Lopez turned, the majority of her back and shoulders were completely exposed, with a single waistband holding it in place. Its cut-outs perfectly showcased the low-rise waistband of her wide-leg, khaki-colored jeans, another hero item for Lopez.

The "Let's Get Loud" singer loves to keep her fans guessing, so she skipped past her extensive Hermès Birkin collection and carried Dior's Groove 25 Bag instead. The quilted top-handle tote, which elevated 2026's bowling bag trend, wasn't large enough to hold her laptop. However, it matched the shade of her platform pumps (and was a perfectly compact pick for an after-work happy hour).

Lopez added St. Agni to her wardrobe two years ago. Much like Sofia Richie Grainge and Lawrence, the Office Romance actor must have been drawn to the brand's on-trend takes on wardrobe staples.

In June 2024, outside the same office in Beverly Hills, her summer whites outfit from St. Agni paired a bold split-sleeve blazer with the widest of wide-leg trousers. The next month, she dressed down the same tailored jacket with a Gucci bra top, drawstring Isabel Marant jeans, and sky-high Aquazzura sandals.

If I know J.Lo (and after years of covering her in-office outfits, I think I do), it's that St. Agni has a soft spot in her after-hours attire, too. But since the $130 going-out top is on sale (down from $270), it won't stick around for long, with some sizes already sold out at the time of publishing.
