Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Discuss the "Irreparable Harm" Caused by "Unsafe Technology Targeting Children" in Emotional Message

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to move back to the U.K. imminently with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Despite presumably being incredibly busy with their transatlantic plans, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have released an emotional message regarding an important topic.

In a statement shared on their official website, Meghan and Harry addressed the fact that 29 States have decided to take Facebook and Instagram owner Meta to court regarding child safety.

"An unprecedented bipartisan coalition of 29 state governments is coming together to demand accountability for privacy violations and unsafe design features putting young people at risk on Meta's apps, Facebook and Instagram," the statement explained.

They continued, "Meta's business model is not only leading to, but reliant on, the exploitation of young people's data and attention...This trial confirms what families and experts have been saying for years—Meta's harms were a financial choice, not an innovation accident."

Meghan and Harry's statement continued, "It's hard to fathom how Meta can withstand the facts highlighted in whistleblower testimony from father and former Meta employee Arturo Bejar's recollection of Meta's 'don't ask, don't tell' approach to child safety; the well-documented internal documentation showing Meta's active pursuit of their technology's addictive properties; or the power of countless stories from parents who have lost their children to suicide, and families who have witnessed irreparable harm to their children."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex concluded their message by writing, "We stand with [parents and advocates] as we wait to see what this trial will mean for children across the country and the world."

Following their move to the U.K., it seems clear Meghan and Harry will remain focused on the charities and issues they have always supported.
