Russia Strikes Ukrainian Ports, Industrial Plants, Storage Sites & Retailers With 258 Drones & Missiles Overnight

Russia carried out a massive attack against Ukrainian port facilities, industrial plants, grain storage sites, distribution hubs and other vital energy and civil infrastructure, according to recent reports.

The offensive continued for hours, especially on the capital city of Kyiv, though other cities were also targeted with cruise missiles, ballistic missiles and around 258 drones.

People went to work and continued their daily routines the next day against the sound of drones being intercepted by Ukraine’s Military, which reported a better interception rate than before after President Zelensky announced having received patriot interceptors from the United States.

These weapons can shoot down fast-moving ballistic missiles and also combat drones which cannot be intercepted easily, given that they alter their path swiftly.

However, they are not enough for Ukraine to continue its long-ongoing war against Russia, which is ramping up production of missiles and drones at a pace Kyiv is unable to match.

Moscow said that it was also attacked by Ukrainian drones, which led to the closure of a logistics complex in Ulfa run by the retailer Ozon, whose several facilities have been targeted under a campaign against prominent e-commerce companies, which Kyiv claims are supporting the Russian war efforts.

Britain, which has come forward in Ukraine’s support, said that it would help Kyiv to begin indigenous production of Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

After this development, Russia said that it could attack British assets and military targets, as British weapons were employed to carry out attacks against Moscow.

The attacks led to loss of lives on both sides, as drones fell on shopping centres, buildings and crowded neighbourhoods. In Ukraine, several people were injured, and one individual was killed in Kharkiv when a drone fell near their place of work during lunchtime.

Prominent chocolate brand Roshen, which was founded by former President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, ⁠also reported an attack on its warehouse near Kyiv that left everything destroyed. Due to the attacks, many trains were delayed, and people were stranded at the stations waiting to go to their destinations.

Scott Clancy, a retired major-general, said that Europe has provided support to keep Ukraine in the war, but not sufficient to win it. He added that to win against Russia, Kyiv needs more air defences and advanced drones and missiles.

Russia has also claimed that its forces attacked an oil refinery in Poltava, key distribution and storage sites and 3 major Ukrainian Ports in Odesa.

Three Russian drones went as far as Moldova, and its President Maia Sandu condemned the ‘intimidation’. One of the combat drones was found in the territory.
