One of My Favorite Hacks for Portrait Photography

Several years ago, I found a way to hack beauty dishes onto little flashes. Today, there are lots of ways to do just that. But there aren't a whole lot of ways to do with and make something feel really solid. It involves one of my favorite tools: the beauty dish. Beauty dishes these days have mostly become collapsible, portable, small, etc. But there's something to be said for how the light bounces off a solid metal dish. Getting it to connect to your flash, however, is still kind of tough overall. I did this hack over a decade ago, and to this day, it still stands up.
