Email Response from Agent after Casting
I applied to come to an open casting call in my city for one of the Tier 1 Agencies in the USA despite being under the height requirement and was selected to attend anyways.
Which was wild to me being honest about my height (5’7) and other talented unsigned models I am close to who met the height requirement not getting selected (5’9). Our city is not a very “big” city like Chicago or NYC either, so I was in shock when I found out this agency was coming here for an open call.
A good few hours after the casting I sent the Agent a very professional thank you email and left it at that. I know that isn’t necessary, but to me it is polite and professional. I wasn’t expecting to get a response 3 days later. It was short addressing me by name, thanking me for attending, and saying it was nice to meet me. It didn’t necessarily seem automated and I did not respond to it. It is still a week from now wait time to supposedly hear back from the agency, so I am in no rush. I am curious, is this an automated response agents send to models, or do most agents ignore thank you emails due to the volume?
My real questions are, what does this mean and how should I move forward? I never thought something like this would happen to me while I am still living in my home state, in general it seems like a rare occurrence from my perspective. So I want to maximize this opportunity the best I can whether I get a call back from this agency or not.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
