I love this dress. Is it too much for graduation?

I loved this blue dress from the moment I saw it. My mother was concerned it might be too much for graduation though.

For context, we don't have any "gown and hat" graduation ceremonies for highschool where I live (I'm pretty sure even univerities don't) so this would pretty much be my graduation garb for accepting my diploma and pictures.

It being a custom-made dress doesn't change much, considering that my middle school graduation dress was also a custom-made piece from a seamstress family friend/relative (shown on the last three photos)

I'm wondering if I should really reconsider my dress choices or if this is an alright dress for the type of graduation I'm going to.
