Is my homecoming dress ugly?

I got this dress for my high school’s homecoming, and I really love it especially the color (I’ve always wanted a gold dress). I thought the neckline is nice too since I have a fuller chest and this covers everything with no ugly padding, I thought I hit the jackpot with this dress.

I showed my friends and they all have mixed opinions, especially with the “scallop” pattern (I didn’t even know that was a thing).

For reference, the theme this year is starry nights and city lights!
