Finding Fall Style: Less Laundry, More Secondhand Finds
I buy pretty much all my clothing second hand. Huge Poshmark user, but mostly buying on Vinted now cause the deals are way better. I just got a bunch of fall/winter stuff, as I lost a bunch of weight this year (never thought I’d go back to pre baby weight, so I sold almost all of my stuff from before my motherhood era), so I don’t have a lot that fits.
All the stuff I get usually smells pretty strongly of detergent, but this batch REEKS of detergent. I put everything in a 2 hour hot soak in the washing machine with vinegar only, & when it started washing I went in to see it completely sudsy, like I had added detergent myself.
PLEASE look into how much detergent you actually need to use. It’s not nearly as much as you think! As someone who is super sensitive to synthetic fragrances, it’s jarring to open a package, & feel nauseated by how much detergent residue is saturating a garment.
I always strip my used clothes, but this batch in particular is gnarly.
Thanks for listening lol.
