Unlock Vision: The Art of Manual Focus in Digital Photography

Autofocus does a great job; but it's a tool that should really only be used sparingly. As a high-functioning blind man, I can attest to the idea that manually focusing a lens will make you compose a scene differently as well as make you rethink how you're making the photograph. This isn't only from zone focusing, but also from the standpoint of the aperture, depth of field, and all. With autofocus, your lens engages and you just simply snap the shutter. But with manual focus, you look at a scene, realize how little is in focus, and then make adjustments. To that end, you become so much more intentional when using manual focus lenses.
