Timeless Color: Photographer Jo Ann Chaus Captures a Lost World

When I look at the photos of Jo Ann Chaus, I'm sort of transported to a fantasy land of sorts involving a time now long lost. Her obsession with color and what appears to be a love of something almost around the Mad Men era speaks to a romantic side of us that's rooted more in originality and a special type of documentary. I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I read her bio and found this line, "She is best known for her psychological self-portrait investigations surrounding generational inheritances." And her new book, Unspoken, Jo Ann looks at the idea of feminity in a fascinating way that's far less performative than what one may see from content creators online.
