The Endless Winter Search: Finding a Jacket When You're Tall

I see a lot of tall posts but non seem to talk about coats or jackets .

I have this yearly experience where on my lunch break I go shop to shop looking for a winter jacket that fits me. My office is in soho nyc so I got options. But I am tall, 6ft tall, I don’t have issues with pants or dresses can rather easily find those fitting . But jackets…. The dreaded jacket…. They size wider and never longer. Sleeves never making it to the ends my wrists.

Put on the biggest size they have with hope in my heart. I can fit another me in here but alas the sleeves are still 3 inches too short.

Anyone else face this issue and have brands or shops they have found success with?

I feel like it’s mostly an issue with puffer jackets. As that’s what I seek. I have had a nice trench in my day and a nice denim jacket, but the puffer, it evades me.

A curse of the genes as my mother has the same issue and I’m pretty sure she has had the same winter jacket my whole life I assume it’s the only one she ever found that fit.
